The fourth stage in the Tour of Hungary has become a prey for Dylan Groenewegen. The Amsterdammer was too quick for compatriot Fabio Jakobsen in the bunch sprint.
Jakobsen started the sprint from the front, but Groenewegen’s timing was better. With a large lead, the North Hollander crossed the finish line in Kazincbarcika. It is Groenewegen’s third stage win of the season. He previously won two stages in the Tour of Saudi Arabia.
Since the heavy fall in the Tour of Poland, after which Jakobsen ended up in a coma, this is the first time that Groenewegen and Jakobsen have been first and second in a cycling race. It’s a Dutch party in Hungary anyway, because Olav Kooij won the opening stage and the second and third stage were a prey for Jakobsen.
Tomorrow’s Tour of Hungary ends with a hill stage. Jakobsen starts the day as leader in the general classification.
