Spring break: youth film festival JEF shows a wide range of films, with jury

The film Coppelia, a family film with enchanting animation and dance ballet, ran in Bruges this morning. After the film, the children at the JEF festival can also ask questions to the director. An extensive children’s jury gives all films a score.

Less commercial film

The Jef Youth Film Festival with films for children even from 2 years old has now been going on for 34 years. “We try to bet on that other better youth film, the less commercial film;” says Wout Vandersteene of JEF. “Sometimes unique screenings that otherwise would not end up in the cinema, and which they would otherwise not be able to see. We are showing 23 films here in Bruges during this holiday week.

In addition to the films, there is also fringe animation and an offer online. And there is also a game lab. JEF is still running all week.
