British online retailer SportsShoes.com has appointed Dan Cartner to the newly created post of Head of Marketing. In this role, he will now “work closely with the company’s digital teams to continuously improve marketing and e-commerce activities,” said parent company B-Sporting Ltd. on Monday with

Cartner has been with the company since 2009. Through various activities in customer service, marketing and e-commerce, he has acquired “a sound understanding of the service offering and the target customers” of the online retailer, according to a statement. Before being appointed to his new post, he most recently held the position of Senior Marketing and E-Commerce Manager.

“Dan absolutely deserves this promotion,” said Brett Bannister, the company’s managing director, in a statement. “He has learned the business from scratch over the past 13 years and has been very successful in transforming our marketing and e-commerce activities.”
