While playing in the American football league NFL Russell Okung was a mortar weighing almost 150 kilograms.
After leaving the professional fields in 2020, Okung did not continue with the sport but devoted his life to a “spiritual journey”.
The trip included a 40-day fast, during which the man’s weight dropped around 50 kilograms.
All the while, Okung, 34, says he survived with just water. However, in his opinion, the results were so good that he is already planning the next diet.
– Fasting is not just about shedding pounds. It’s about renewal, healing and self-discovery. By stilling my physical hunger, I became spiritually enlightened and experienced a spiritual revelation. Complete reset.
Okung has published a pair of photos on Twitter, from which a considerable transformation can be seen.

By publishing on Monday on video the American says that throughout his life he has only focused on the pursuit of success and that he became a coach Pete Carroll’s brainwashing.
– Soon I noticed that it was just emptiness. It doesn’t matter, Okung says about his sporting achievements.
– I didn’t have a relationship with my children and my wife. I didn’t even know who I was. I prayed for guidance and wisdom. Then it dawned on me.
He admits that fasting is such a harsh method for the body that it is not suitable for everyone.
– But for me it was life-changing. The benefits are profound. Smoother skin, better metabolism and concentration, even my joint pain has decreased.
