Erin Andrews talks about an embarrassing incident from years ago.
American sports reporter Erin Andrews was caught in the middle of a scandal that left deep scars in 2008.
A nude video of Andrews was spread, which he himself was not aware of filming. Michael Barrett – a 55-year-old man had made a peephole in the wall of the journalist’s hotel room, through which he filmed Andrews, who was without clothes, for minutes. Barrett, who leaked the video, was sentenced to two and a half years in prison for his actions.
Andrews says in a recent interview that he got information about the video from a friend who worked for Sports Illustrated magazine. It was hard for him to believe that the recording existed, because of course there were no memories of the filming.
– I’m single. I don’t have that going on in my life, Andrews says that he answered his friend Hoda Kotbin on the podcast.
After seeing the video, he collapsed and called his parents.
– My father always says that he thought I was in a car accident because I just screamed.
– And I felt so bad. My parents were amazing.
The situation was made even more unpleasant by the fact that many believed that Andrews himself organized the distribution of the nude video in the hope of attention and advertising contract income.
– I was in my thirties when it happened and I resorted to the behavior of a 15-year-old in the sense that I didn’t want to deal with the matter. My parents were at the forefront, he praises the support he received from them.
Andrews also sued the Marriott hotel where the filming took place. The hotel chain was sentenced to 55 million dollars in damages.
