Sports icon Jelle Sinnesael stops playing volleyball after 15 years

Menen said goodbye to her hall, but European volleyball in the new hall must of course be won. After three sets it is 2-1 for Menen. In the last set, Menen rumbles over Achel under the leadership of Sinnesael. 3-1 and the important final of the jump-off for European volleyball has arrived.

Sinnesael is an icon in the Belgian volleyball world. On Tuesday he received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Volleyproms, and also in a crowded Vauban hall he gets an open cloth for the very last time.

New role

But that will no longer be with Jelle between the lines, although he will remain faithful to Menen. Sinnesael joins Menen’s staff as T2.
