Bayern sports director amazes with statement on Olise

Christoph Freund comments on Michael Olise in a valley group – and talks about his future. A comment says a lot about the French status at Bayern.
Michael Olise continues to delight FC Bayern Munich with top services. The Frenchman, who had moved from the Premier League club Crystal Palace to the Munich state capital for 53 million euros in the summer of 2024, is undoubtedly one of the best transfers of the German record champion in recent years.
No wonder that Bayern sports director Christoph Freund praised the national player at “Sky90 Extra” in the highest tones-and amazed with a statement: “He was really hit. He took one step forward,” said Freund in the broadcast after the Bundesliga top game of Bayern at Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday evening. And then added a sentence that caused a sensation: “We could well imagine that he will play the next seven, eight or nine years in Munich.”
An unexpected statement-after all, the current working paper of the 23-year-old runs until 2029. Freund had already emphasized: “He still has a long-term contract”, so an early departure of the attacker is not feared. Freund’s statement illustrates the appreciation of Bayern for their attacker.
Olise has developed into one of the outstanding players at FC Bayern in a short time and, after a strong first season, also triumphed at the highest level in 2025/26: Olise already has eight goals and just as many templates.
He met three times in the Bundesliga – only Harry Kane (11 leagueatore, 20 goals in all competitions) and Luis Díaz (5 goals) currently have an even better record with the record champions.
