The Sports Council advises, among other things, to equalize the medal bonus for Olympic and Paralympic athletes. In order to increase the visibility and inclusiveness of Paralympic top sport, the Council suggests including this in the name of the NOC*NSF sports umbrella and making it NOPC*NSF.
“Paralympic top athletes are a role model for society when it comes to pushing boundaries and participating,” says Van Praag. “They are a source of inspiration for many. But there is still a world to win for them when it comes to equality with Olympic top sport.”
