“Sport1”: Weghorst moves to FC Burnley – VfL Wolfsburg sells at a profit

Wind should come as a substitute

According to “Sport1” and “Image” Wout Weghorst’s move from VfL Wolfsburg to FC Burnley is a done deal. The Dutchman will sign until 2025, the transfer fee is around 14 million euros – there are apparently also 2 million euros in bonuses in the event of relegation. The “Wolves” would therefore sell the goalscorer at a profit, since he had cost 10.5 million euros in 2018. At that time Weghorst came from Alkmaar in the Bundesliga.

Regardless of his current phase of weakness in front of the goal at VfL, the previously efficient clipper in Burnley should replace Chris Wood (30), who has migrated. The latter had switched to Newcastle United for a fee of EUR 30 million (clause price), which even surprised the New Zealander himself. Wolfsburg presented returnee Max Kruse (33) for the attack on Sunday, and center forward Jonas Wind (22) is said to come from FC Copenhagen.
