UK government also imposes sanctions against Chelsea director
6.23 pm: The British government also imposes sanctions against Eugene Tenenbaum, who is on the board of the Chelsea football club. According to the British government, he has too close ties with Roman Abramovich, the Russian owner of the club against whom heavy measures have already been taken. The reason is the invasion of Russia in Ukraine.
The sanctions were also imposed on David Davidovich, a corporate ally of Abramovich. The British government is going to freeze the assets of Tenenbaum and Davidovich, which, according to the government, are very large. The two would have taken over Abramovich’s business interests when he was placed on the sanction list. Abramovich previously announced that he would sell Chelsea.

Tolhoek misses Ardennes classics

PEC and FC Twente play a draw in closed practice match

Ineos with Van Baarle, but without Pidcock in Paris-Roubaix
2:33 PM: Dylan van Baarle has been designated as one of the leaders of the British team Ineos Grenadiers for the spring classic Paris-Roubaix. The 29-year-old cyclist finished second in the Tour of Flanders this season.
Tom Pidcock is missing from the start of the cobbled race through northern France on Sunday. The world champion in cyclo-cross and Olympic champion in mountain biking focuses on the Ardennes classics Walloon Arrow and Liège-Bastogne-Liège.
The Italian Filippo Ganna, the world time trial champion, is a co-leader at Ineos. Ganna won the Paris-Roubaix version in the U23 class in 2016, but as an elite rider, the time trial specialist has not yet achieved much in the ‘Hell of the North’. Poland and Slovenia new host countries Volleyball World Cup for men
13:04: Poland and Slovenia will jointly organize the World Volleyball Championship for men this summer. The tournament was initially to be held in Russia, but the international association FIVB has removed it because of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki announced the news. “Russia would host the Volleyball World Cup, but you can’t imagine everyone going to listen to the Russian national anthem as if nothing happened,” Morawiecki said. “That’s why we protested against it.”
Poland has won the last two men’s World Cups and is therefore partly defending the title in its own country. The tournament will run from August 26 to September 11. The final and the battle for bronze are in Poland. The Dutch team is one of the participants. The Orange squad is in group F, with Argentina, Iran and Egypt as opponents.
Team Van der Poel with five Belgians and Swiss in Paris-Roubaix
12.17 pm: Mathieu van der Poel will be assisted in Paris-Roubaix on Sunday by five Belgians and a Swiss. The Dutch leader of Alpecin-Fenix is accompanied by Senne Leysen, Tim Merlier, Gianni Vermeersch, Guillaume Van Keirsbulck, Julien Vermote and the Swiss champion Silvan Dillier.
In October last year, 27-year-old Van der Poel immediately finished third in his first participation in Paris-Roubaix. In the sprint on the track in Roubaix, he only had to tolerate European champion Sonny Colbrelli and the Belgian Florian Vermeersch.
Last weekend, Van der Poel was assisted by a compatriot, Oscar Riesebeek, during the Amstel Gold Race. Van der Poel eventually finished fourth.
Willem II looking for new boss youth academy after this season

08.04 am: The San Antonio Spurs basketball players are eliminated from the NBA playoffs. The team of 73-year-old coach Gregg Popovich lost 113-103 to New Orleans Pelicans in the jump-offs. CJ McCollum was the Pelicans’ top scorer with 32 points. The team from New Orleans now plays against Los Angeles Clippers to determine who will enter the playoffs as the eighth team from the Western Conference.
Atlanta Hawks was way too strong for Charlotte Hornets in the jump-offs of the Eastern Conference: 132-103. The Hawks now face the Cleveland Cavaliers in the battle for the last ticket from that division to the playoffs. Six players from the Hawks posted scores in double digits, with Trae Young leading the way with 24 points. De’Andre Hunter made 22.
