No heart problems for Alphonso Davies
6.22 pm: Footballer Alphonso Davies of Bayern Munich emphasizes that he does not have a heart problem. The Canadian hopes to make his comeback at the German top club next month.
The 21-year-old fullback last played on December 17. After he tested positive for the corona virus, he developed an inflamed heart muscle. He carefully resumed training this week.
“I am happy to be back. The recovery is going well. I have no problems with my muscles and my heart, but I am not 100 percent fit yet,” Davies reports on the Bayern website. “I’m especially happy to be able to train again.”
Trainer Julian Nagelsmann of the Bavarian club hopes that Davies will be available again for the return in the quarter-finals of the Champions League on April 12 against Villarreal.
Hofman third at World Championship three cushion
6.15 pm: Glenn Hoffman must have dreamed for a moment that he would reach the final of the second world championship three cushion at the PBA.
In the semi-final against defending champion, Spaniard David Zapata, the native of The Hague quickly took a 2-0 lead. With 15-13 and 15-5 it seemed to be a beautiful Sunday in Seoul for Hagenaar.
However, the experienced Spaniard rubbed his eyes for a moment, shifted two gears and won no less than 4 sets in a row.

In the 4th set Hofman missed a few triangles that he managed to make in the previous sets. Hofman improved his performance from last year with his 3rd place. Then he finished in 5th place.
Handball players Lions win BENE-League for second time
5:47 PM: The Kembit-Lions handball players have won the BENE-League for the second time. In the final in Den Bosch, the club from Sittard-Geleen defeated the Belgian title holder Achilles Bocholt 29-22.
The Belgians from Bocholt had won the last four editions of the BENE-League. That was from 2017 to 2020. In 2021, the competition between the Dutch and Belgian teams was not played due to the corona pandemic.
Lions won the BENE-League in 2015. In the five subsequent editions, the Limburgers lost the final four times, three times of which Achilles Bocholt was the winner.
Golfer Besseling falls just outside the top 20 in Qatar Masters
4:49 PM: Golfer Wil Besseling was unable to maintain his position at the top in the last round of the Qatar Masters. The Noord-Hollander dropped from eleventh to shared 21st place in the final standings after a final round of 74 strokes (2 over par). Besseling played hit and miss in his fourth round at the Doha golf course; he scored four birdies, but faced six bogeys.
Daan Huizing, the second Dutchman in Qatar, had already dropped out after the first round due to a back injury. The Dutchman said on Instagram that the back problems were caused by the bad mattresses in his hotel. He hopes to be there again in three weeks at his next tournament on the DP World Tour.
The victory in the Qatar Masters went to the Scotsman Ewen Ferguson, who finished with one stroke less than the American Chase Hanna. Ferguson, 25, recorded his first win on the tour.
Almere City FC beats MVV in Maastricht
Almere City has done good business in the fourth period of the Kitchen Champion Division, by beating MVV 0-3. Ilias Alhaft killed the home team with two hits before half time. Substitute Jonas Arweiler finished the job in injury time.
Almere leads with twelve points in period four.
Portugal has Pepe back for the final play-offs
3.15 pm: The Portuguese football team has defender Pepe back for the final of the play-offs for a World Cup ticket. The 39-year-old FC Porto defender was missing against Turkey last week, because he had tested positive for the corona virus. Without Pepe, Portugal won 3-1 against the Turks in Porto.
The 123-time international joined the training field on Sunday. “The king is back, Pepe is back, watch out!” Cristiano Ronaldo shouted at the start of the training. Portugal will compete with North Macedonia on Tuesday for a place in the World Cup. North Macedonia caused a surprise in Palermo on Thursday by beating European champions Italy 1-0 in the semi-finals of the play-offs.
“We will not lie: we all expected to play against Italy,” said midfielder João Moutinho. “But names, numbers and statistics mean nothing. Any country at this level can win. North Macedonia will also do everything it can to beat us on Tuesday.”
Football players Ajax miss the chance of leading position against PSV
2.50 pm: The football players of Ajax have failed to take back the lead in the Women’s Eredivisie from FC Twente. The team of trainer Danny Schenkel had to settle for 0-0 against PSV at De Toekomst in Amsterdam. Ajax therefore came to 42 points, the same as Twente, which has a considerably better goal difference. PSV is in fourth place with 30 points and is not participating in the title fight.

English referee at practice match between Orange and Germany
2:24 PM: The practice match between the Dutch national team and Germany will be led by Craig Pawson on Tuesday. The 43-year-old Englishman, who has been a referee of international competitions since 2015, has never whistled a game for the Orange before.
It will be the 45th time that the Netherlands and Germany will face each other. Of the previous 44 duels, the Germans won sixteen, sixteen ended undecided and the Orange won twelve.
The last meeting between the two countries was in September 2019. The Dutch national team was 4-2 too strong in the European Championship qualifying in Hamburg.
Fourteenth starting place for Daniel Ricciardo after grid penalty
2:09 p.m.: Formula 1 driver Daniel Ricciardo is penalized backwards on the grid for the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. The Australian from McLaren hindered Frenchman Esteban Ocon (Alpine) in Saturday’s qualifying. The stewards decided to give him a grid penalty.
Ricciardo had qualified twelfth. In principle, he should be three places back, but because Mick Schumacher (fourteenth in qualifying) cannot race in Jeddah due to a serious crash, the Australian is in fourteenth place on the grid. He has seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton diagonally behind him in fifteenth place.

Poels dismounts during the final stage of the Tour of Catalonia

Italian cyclist Colbrelli back home after heart rhythm disorder
12.16 pm: Italian cyclist Sonny Colbrelli is back at home. The European champion and most recent winner of Paris-Roubaix collapsed on Monday after the first stage of the Tour of Catalonia, in which he finished second behind Australian Michael Matthews. Colbrelli had to be resuscitated and was then hospitalized in Girona.
The 31-year-old Bahrain-Victorious rider underwent all kinds of tests in hospital to find out where his heart problems come from. Colbrelli was found to have had a heart rhythm disorder. The Italian received permission from doctors on Saturday to return to Italy. Colbrelli will be further investigated there in the coming days.
“Everyone from Bahrain-Victorious wishes Sonny a speedy recovery, surrounded by the love of his family,” the team said in a statement on Sunday. Colbrelli, last month second in Omloop Het Nieuwsblad, recently got off the track in Paris-Nice due to bronchitis and for that reason also skipped Milan-Sanremo.
Tony Martin to auction Olympic cycling medal for Ukraine
10:40 am Former German cyclist Tony Martin is selling the Olympic medal he won in the time trial in 2012 and is donating the proceeds to victims of the war in Ukraine. The 36-year-old German hopes that his silver medal at the London Games will yield around 20,000 euros. “That would be a nice result,” said Martin in Bild am Sonntag.
“If I can tell my grandchildren that I have helped people with this medal, it means a lot more to me than showing them the original. No one can take my memories away from me,” said Martin, who works as a tutor at a private school in Switzerland and has taken in 43 refugees there. “By auctioning this medal, I can help them even more.”
The four-time world time trial champion took Olympic silver in London behind Britain’s Bradley Wiggins. He is now auctioning the original medal, including the slightly damaged box, for the United Charity organization, which provides aid to children in need in Ukraine.
The online auction lasts for two weeks. The starting amount is 5000 euros. Martin decided last year to end his cycling career, despite a permanent contract with the Dutch team Jumbo-Visma. The German no longer wanted to continue because he was concerned about safety in the sport. Martin crashed in the Tour de France because a spectator with a sign in her hands got in the way.
Miami Heat lose form and lead in NBA
