A new addition to the outdoor division of Sport 2000 GmbH. The sports retail association has appointed Katja Mendel to the position of Retail Format Manager Outdoor.
Mendel has been in her new position since April 1, the dealer organization belonging to the ANWR Group announced on Wednesday. Her role in Sport 2000 includes not only conceptual further development and support of the concepts of the association in the five-country group, but also the issue of sustainability, according to the announcement.
“Kati has been a member of our Specialties Committee for a long time, is well connected in retail and industry and has an irrepressible will to improve even good things,” says Outdoor Division Head Tim Wahnel.
Mendel is also no stranger to the sports industry, so she was managing director of the outdoor specialist Alpenstrand in Landshut until the end of January. The store closed its doors at the beginning of the year, mainly due to a massive staff shortage. According to her profile on the LinkedIn career network, Mendel has worked at Alpenstrand since 2006.
“I’m very happy to be able to continue working in this unique industry and to be able to intensively shape the fortunes of the outdoor concepts at Sport 2000 from now on,” says Mendel.
