The TV classic Spoorloos has lost a lot of viewers after the riot about cheating reunifications. The clumsy performance of figurehead Derk Bolt at Khalid & Sophie will not have helped.
Spoorloos was the undisputed program in which family members are reunited for years, but the riot about cheating reunions have severely damaged the image of the show. Presenter Derk Bolt made things even worse with his extremely clumsy performance on the talk show Khalid & Sophie.
Loses without a trace
Coincidence or not: since that riot about the cheating at Spoorloos, the program has lost a lot of viewers. Two weeks ago, before the riot broke out, more than 1.4 million people were watching. Last week there were 1.1 million and yesterday the counter remained at 1.175 million viewers (23 percent market share) at NPO 1.
Viewing figure expert Tina Nijkamp finds it striking. “NPO 1 is the winner of the prime time totals with Radar and Spoorloos. Nevertheless, Spoorloos scores 300 thousand viewers less than before for the second week in a row. In the target group 20 to 54 years, the figures are very old for both programmes. They enter the danger zone: both score only 9.9 percent.”
RTL 4 on two
RTL 4 takes silver on prime time with 962 thousand viewers (18 percent) for Expedition Robinson. The bronze is for SBS 6, which scored 884 thousand viewers (18 percent) with Today Inside and 864 thousand viewers (16 percent) with Chateau Meiland.
Furthermore, especially NPO 3’s Hunted (870 thousand and 16 percent) and NPO 2’s Nieuwsuur (522 thousand and 10 percent) did good business.
Khalid & Sophie
The viewing figure surprise of the day, according to Tina, is the early talk show Khalid & Sophie with 845 thousand viewers (21 percent). Normally not many people watch this talk show.
Tina: “Khalid & Sophie had very accessible, ‘broad’ subjects yesterday. When they have such a line-up, they always score at least 200,000 viewers more than with canal belt topics. Conclusion: Khalid & Sophie is on the rise.”
