Was already national coach
The Bhutanese Paro FC has signed the German Torsten Spittler as the new technical director about two months after being eliminated in the preliminary round of the AFC Cup. The 60-year-old Spittler was in various areas in Germany (U16 assistant coach), Malaysia (coach Perak FC), Nepal (national coach), Canada (coach Okanagan Challenge), Yemen, Sierra Leone (each head of training), Mozambique (technical Director), Bhutan (National Coach), Oman (Match Analyst & Talent Manager) or Myanmar (U15 Coach) and holds a Pro license. He has also worked in India and China.
Paro FC was founded in 2018, won the Bhutan Premier League twice and thereby qualified for the preliminary round of the AFC Cup. Puspalal Sharma is the club’s coach and has been Technical Director since its inception, with Spittler now replacing him.
