Team Spirit, PSG.LGD and TSM won the final rounds in their respective regions, Eastern Europe, China and North America.
While Spirit and PSG.LGD remain in good form as World Championship finalists, the win is a first for TSM.
“I feel great. This streak has been completely insane. I didn’t think it would go to the full five games,” TSM offlaner Jonas “SabeRLight-” Volek said in an interview after the North American Finals.
“When I watched the semi-final between EG and Quincy Crew, I thought that EG looked pretty good and that I would like to play against them because the games would be very exciting and they were.”
Fast success for TSM
Former Team Undying were signed by TSM on January 25th and can now claim a great success straight away.
The team defeated the top dog EG twice, in the first and last round of the regional finals, albeit only just 3:2 in the final. In addition to the prize money, the 250 Dota Pro Circuit points are an important prize for the teams.
Team Spirit and PSG.LGD remain strong
In the Eastern European and Chinese regions, Team Spirit and PSG.LGD, who met in the finals of the tenth Dota World Championship, managed to win their final rounds.
The reigning world champions of Spirit surprisingly lost 2-1 to HellRaisers in the first round of play, but then went through the lower half of the tournament undefeated into the final.
PSG.LGD won the Chinese regional finals undefeated.
