Finnish textile manufacturer Spinnova Plc has appointed Tuomas Oijala as its new CEO.
Oijala will take over his new one at the beginning of the new year, Spinnova announced on Thursday. He takes over for Kim Poulsen, who resigned in April. Since then, Chief Financial Officer Ben Selby has served as interim CEO, holding the role until Oijala takes office. He then becomes deputy CEO, but remains active as CFO.
The new CEO comes from Finnish elevator and escalator supplier Kone Corporation, where he held positions in strategy, trading and business development. Most recently, he held the position of Senior Vice President for New Building Solutions.
“Tuomas has a strong track record of leading international companies in a highly competitive global market,” said Spinnova Chairman Janne Poranen, who served as CEO before Poulsen. “He has successfully built businesses and implemented changes that ensure profitable growth. His energetic, bold and forward-thinking approach is a great fit for Spinnova and will be of great importance as the company grows.”
