It’s a big secret. Perhaps Spijkerboor’s biggest secret. The theme for the sports week, which is held in May. While Freddie Duursma reveals the theme on the terrace of Cafe ‘t Keerpunt in front of the camera of RTV Drenthe, the neighbors peek over the fence.
“You see. Everyone wants to know,” Duursma laughs. They’ve already heard it. The theme this year is television programs. And hey, the neighbors already know. Anyway. In a few minutes, the organization of the sports week will announce the theme anyway, and the entire village will know about it.
The sports week is not until May, but it is a major event for the villagers. That is why the organization is already announcing the theme. “Then everyone can prepare well.”
The team leaders sit together in the café and will soon go door to door to announce the theme. But first the theme is revealed to them. The cloth is slowly removed, followed by loud applause.
