Germany has suspended the exchange of information with the tax authorities of Russia and Belarus, informs Spiegel with reference to a letter from German Finance Minister Christian Lindner to his Ukrainian counterpart Sergey Marchenko.

As the newspaper writes, Germany suspended cooperation in the tax sphere even during the start of the Russian special operation in Ukraine. In addition to the exchange of information, Germany no longer compensates income tax to Russian individuals and legal entities that are registered with the German financial authorities, which will affect their ability to avoid double taxation.

The letter cited by Spiegel was sent in response to the request of the Ukrainian minister to stop cooperation with Russia, the article says.

RBC sent a request to the Federal Tax Service (FTS).
