Speed skating prodigy Jordan Stolz from the USA significantly improved the world record over 1000 m at the World Cup in Salt Lake City.
The 19-year-old three-time world champion ran on the 2002 Olympic track on Friday in 1:05.37 minutes, 32 hundredths faster than the Russian Pavel Kulischnikov four years earlier.
Stolz won the individual titles over 500, 1000 and 1500 m at the World Championships in Heerenveen in March 2023.
