Ihle on course for the top ten
At half-time Nico Ihle is in 14th place with 70.665 points. In tenth place, the man from Chemnitz is 0.28 points behind. The 36-year-old ran the 500 meters in 35.75 seconds and was in 19th place, but thanks to his seventh place he improved over 1,000 meters in the overall classification in 1:09.83 minutes.
Moritz Klein (Erfurt) finished 18th after 35.80 seconds over 500 meters and 1:10.76 minutes over 1000 meters with 71.180 points, Hendrik Dombek (Munich) was 19th with 71.230 points after 35.74 seconds and 1 :10.98 minutes.
Double lead for the Netherlands in the women
After the first day, Jutta Leerdam from the Netherlands leads the women’s race with 75.550 points ahead of her teammate Femke Kok (75.620). Third is the Austrian Vanessa Herzog (76.140). German speed skaters were not at the start.
