The speed limit on the N200, better known as the Zeeweg between Bloemendaal aan Zee and Overveen, will probably decrease earlier than expected. At the moment you can drive a maximum of 80 kilometers per hour there, but that will be 60 kilometers per hour.
The Zeeweg is known as a dangerous road, where many accidents happen. A few days ago it was still hit, when a car shot off the road. In recent years there have also been several fatal accidents happened.

At that time, the province saw no reason for a speed reduction for the rest of the road. Only around the planned ‘major maintenance’ in 2028 did the province want to see what measures could be taken.

It is not possible to simply swap the plates from ’80’ to ’60’. The province will first conduct all kinds of investigations. For example, the impact of the changes on the road network in the region is examined.
