Despite his young age, the defendant is no stranger to the court. This time it concerned a series of burglaries in the region around Izegem. He always sold or exchanged the stolen goods for speed. In June last year he broke into the OCMW. He ran off with a sum of money and some bank cards belonging to OCMW employees. Several months later, he attempted to break into a car wash’s ATM. When that failed, he stole a key from the office and tried again. In October and November he forced the door of a primary school several times. He kept running off with laptops.

40 months in prison

His last achievement dates from December. Then he made an appointment with someone who wanted to sell an electric scooter via Facebook. He said he would like to take a test drive before buying the scooter, but never came back. During the trial, the prosecutor pointed to the man’s extensive criminal record.
