Speed fine in Menen refunded due to error in administration
It was one of the ticketed drivers who discovered the error.
Wrong house number
Everything has to do with the house number on the PV. The flash car was located along the Ieperstraat, within the built-up area. Anyone who drove faster than 50 was therefore flashed. But the PV states that the car was at number 342, and that is outside the built-up area.
“There was a wrong mention in the PV: flashing in zone 50 instead of zone 70,” says Tom Janssens of the prosecutor’s office. “That means that some people can say that they have been fined unfairly. We are going to identify those people and if they have already paid, they will get it back.”
