Stefan Emele from Erfurt ran into the top 10 for the first time at the European speed skating championships.
The 25-year-old German record holder finished ninth in the Dutch Heerenveen over 1500 meters in 1: 46.57 minutes. Moritz Klein from Erfurt came in 13th in 1: 47.26 minutes. European champion was Olympic champion Kjeld Nuis from the Netherlands in 1: 43.60 minutes, who won the ninth title for the hosts in the tenth decision.
