After his end at Red Bull Racing, return to Formula 1, possibly even promptly? Very well conceivable, says the former F1 driver Juan Pablo Montoya, but the Colombian also brought a possible ban on work into play.
Whether at Alpine, Aston Martin or even at Cadillac: Christian Horner has already been traded in some Formula 1 racing stables (or those who start from 2026) in the past few weeks. The doors should be open to Red Bull Racing for many years – despite his expellation at Red Bull Racing in July – that is obvious.
No wonder that the former F1 driver Juan Pablo Montoya firmly believes that Horner does not yet have enough of the premier class of motorsport.
“If Christian gets the chance, he will come back,” quotes “F1-insider.com” Montoya from his podcast with the name “Montoyas”.
“We do not know whether he wants this or not. With everything that has happened and the severance payment that Red Bull must have paid him, he is financially secured,” said the World Cup third from 2022 and 2003. Horner has reportedly received a severance payment in the high double-digit million range.
Montoya speculates about the ban on work for Horner in Formula 1
But is there a certain proportion that Horner does not hire horses at Red Bull’s rival? “Perhaps it was part of the deal that he was never allowed to work again in Formula 1. That would be the only thing that would stop him,” Montoya speculated with a view to Horner’s comeback chances.
“But if I had a team like Aston Martin, Cadillac, Alpine or Haas, I would stop it in two seconds,” the 49-year-old from the Red Bull competition.
Under Horner’s leadership, the Austria-British racing team has cheered eight driver titles and six world of constructors in the past 20 years. This makes Red Bull one of the most successful teams in the history of Formula 1.
