Dramatic rescue operation on Saturday morning in Zepernick (Barnim district). A car went off the road and got wedged between a building and a tree in a violent crash.
Two young men were driving their Skoda Karoq on Alt Zepernick street in the morning when the driver lost control of the vehicle. The car went over the curb, spun across a grass verge, struck an electrical junction box and landed firmly wedged on its side between a tree and the wall of a family home.
The car was wedged in so badly by the force of the collision that the fire brigade had difficulty opening the vehicle via the roof.
With the help of the fire brigade in Panketal, the rescue service was able to free the two seriously injured people. An emergency doctor’s vehicle, an ambulance and a rescue helicopter requested from Berlin brought the two men to hospitals.
Investigators from DEKRA and the police are now investigating how this crash could have happened.
