Special revelation from the old box: Queen Victoria’s underpants are worth almost 19,000 euros | Abroad

A guest discovers this during a broadcast of the British program Antiques Roadshow. A BBC broadcast program in which antiques appraisers travel to different areas of the UK to appraise antiques from locals.

The guest has brought a box that she opens in front of expert Hilary Kay. It contains Queen Victoria’s underpants, her initials are clearly visible. Victoria was the Queen of the United Kingdom from 1837 to 1901 and was also Empress of India from 1877.

Hilary jokes: “We discovered Victoria’s Secret (a well-known lingerie brand, ed.).” As she inspects the garments, she explains how these underpants are exactly what ladies wore in the 19th century.

As for value, she adds: “The last pair I saw at the auction fetched £16,000. so that will probably happen again.”

How did she get it?

After a very shocked reaction from the guest, the question is: how did you get these underpants? She tells how it was passed down through her family for several generations. A special gesture, expert Kay knows. It seems that the Queen then gave away her underwear to civilians as a token of affection.
