Tangible memory
“How beautiful and special it is that 353 years later we can present a tangible memory of that ‘Finest Hour’,” says Geerdink at the unveiling. “In the form of this painting by Hendrik Jacobus Scholten.”
According to chairman Klaas Koeman of Oud Enkhuizen, the purchase of the painting began an email from art historian John Brozius.
