Lo sport as a means to bring people together and create a better world, which encourages and promotes diversity and inclusion, enhancing everyone’s potential. This is the purpose of Special Olympicswhich with Toyota, as Mobility Partner, accompanied the Special Olympics athletes on the occasion of the XXXIV edition of the National Winter Games.
There Special Olympics mission is that of provide opportunities for children and adults with intellectual disabilities to train and compete in a variety of Olympic sports throughout the year. This allows them to develop and increase their physical well-being, to demonstrate courage, to experience the joy of participating in an atmosphere of continuous exchange. Skills are brought into play, friendships are made with other athletes, unique experiences are lived together with coaches, volunteers, one’s family members and the whole community.
Toyota’s commitment
A collaboration launched in 2020 between the companies of the Toyota Group in Italy and Special Olympics Italia, with the aim of promoting the social inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities through sport, and under which Toyota supports the realization of sporting events promoted by the Organization, both through the activity of volunteers and as a Mobility Partner.

The commitment alongside the Special Olympics will also continue in the coming months with numerous voluntary activities involving the employees of the Toyota Group, starting from Run4Rome Charity Marathonthe solidarity relay that was held in Rome on 19 March which saw the same team compete i Toyota and dealership employees, along with Special Olympics athletesto support important social responsibility projects in favor of the charities participating in the Charity Program.
