Special Items: Digital fashion retailer launches NFT marketplace

Special Items, a digital fashion retailer, is launching an NFT marketplace. To this end, the company is working with Salesforce’s NFT cloud platform, which was launched as a pilot project, Special Items announced on Monday. The platform is intended to enable “minting”, i.e. minting, through which the NFT becomes a collector’s item, and the sale of non-fungible tokens.

The new marketplace features NFTs from more than thirty digital creators, designers otherwise dedicated to physical fashion, and creations from various interdisciplinary artists. The tracking of the NFTs should be simplified by the new platform for customers and designers, as well as guaranteeing a secure handling of the buying and selling process. The special items marketplace offers designers and customers “better traceability of property rights as well as more transparency and security,” according to the statement.

The focus of the company is the accessibility of the digital designs and the associated visibility for the designers. “The goal is to create a new way of trading that is in the hands of the creators, not the monopolies,” said Special Items Creative Director Brittany Williams.

Launched earlier this year, Special Items specializes in digital clothing that is bought and worn online. These are computer generated designs that can be worn and traded in various online worlds.
