Harelbeke took the lead from a corner kick. Santens towered above everyone and headed in the corner kick, 0-1 after 25 minutes. In the second half, goalkeeper Sammy Bossut, ex-Zulte Waregem, arrived too late and caused a penalty. Bossut corrected his mistake himself by saving Vandamme’s penalty.
As the game ended, Sparta pushed Petegem more and more. Three minutes before the final whistle, the home team succeeded. Joye scored the deserved equalizer past Bossut, 1-1.
