Spanish woman accuses Dutch Valley director of rape

The director of United Dance Company (UDC), organizer of festivals such as Dutch Valley and Dance Valley, was arrested in Spain last spring on suspicion of rape. Brian B. confirms his arrest in a Wednesday published declarationin which he denies all allegations. UDC was not immediately available for comment on Wednesday.

The allegations come from a 52-year-old Spanish woman. She published a statement on Instagram on Tuesday, claiming that she was raped by Brian B. on April 10 in Madrid. They would have met in a bar, after which he would have suggested to go home with her. “He pushed me into the house and violently raped me,” the woman said. After “a lot of yelling no” and “barking from the dog” he is said to have left. If she told anyone what had happened, he would kill her.

“I denied and still deny this woman’s charges,” said Brian B. After his arrest in April, he said, “both versions of the story” were heard and he was released by a Spanish judge. The woman says he is out on bail pending trial. B. writes that he looks forward to the outcome of the criminal proceedings ‘with confidence’.

United Dance Company, founded in 1999, is one of the largest organizers of dance festivals in the Netherlands, according to the company website. UDC is responsible for Dutch Valley, Dance Valley and Ground Zero, festivals that attract tens of thousands of visitors every year.
