Spanish music festival canceled after high wind victims

The music festival Medusa in Spain has been canceled for good. The organization has made this decision after one person was killed and forty injured in the night from Friday to Saturday when parts of the decor and the stage came off due to strong gusts of wind.

The festival was held on Cullera Beach, about 50 kilometers south of the city of Valencia. A 22-year-old man died after being hit by part of the stage. Three of the other victims have been hospitalized.

The organization had initially shut down the event, but has now announced on Facebook that it will definitely cancel the remaining festival days. The Dutch DJ Afrojack would perform there on Saturday evening. A total of about 320,000 visitors were expected.
