Spain suffers from heat wave | Abroad

According to the meteorologists at AEMET, the heat wave is caused by the hot air coming in from North Africa. Temperatures can rise above 40 degrees again today, with peaks of up to 43 degrees in Extremadura. During the night the temperature only drops to about 20 degrees. According to experts, the heat wave could last until June 15, with a peak early next week.

Forest fires

The combination of the hot weather and strong winds also increases the risk of forest fires. For example, a fire broke out not far from Marbella. Many hectares of farmland were destroyed and 2500 people had to be evacuated.
