Spain star Olmo stays with RB Leipzig

Spanish international Dani Olmo has agreed to extend his contract with Bundesliga club RB Leipzig. The reported Spanish media.

Olmo’s contract in Leipzig only runs until 2024, and sports director Max Eberl has been working on an early extension for months.

For the manager, it would be the first major negotiation success since he took office in early December. Olmo is said to have secured a release clause of 60 million euros.

Spain star Olmo could have gone on a free transfer

Most recently, rumors surfaced that the 25-year-old would move to FC Barcelona on a free transfer next summer.

This leaves one of the most influential players with Leipzig. The club should have to cope with the departure of at least two top performers in the summer. Christopher Nkunku is drawn to Chelsea, Konrad Laimer to Bayern Munich. Official confirmations are still pending for both transfers.

In addition, Dominik Szoboszlai is about to be transferred to Newcastle United. The English could buy the Hungarian out of his contract, which runs until 2026, for 70 million euros.
