It will no longer be mandatory in Spain from next Tuesday to wear a face mask outside. The measure was introduced at the end of December to slow down the advance of the omikron virus variant.
The government of Pedro Sánchez will agree to the abolition of the mask requirement during the cabinet meeting on Tuesday, Health Minister Carolina Darias said on radio.
Earlier in the corona crisis, mouth and nose also had to be covered outside. That was limited to crowded places in the summer.
