SpaceX wants to prevent hearings of ex-employees who say they were fired for criticizing Musk | Abroad

According to SpaceX, the approach taken by the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) is unconstitutional and the NLRB hearing process violates the company’s right to a jury trial, according to a copy of the complaint filed with a federal court in Texas.

The complaint does not dispute that the employees were fired for asking their colleagues to sign a letter criticizing Musk’s behavior on social media. In 2022, they sent the letter, in which they accused their boss of “sexist” comments, to thousands of colleagues via SpaceX’s internal communications platform.

The dismissed employees went to the labor inspectorate, which listened to their complaints. The independent federal agency, which must ensure respect for labor rights, wants to organize hearings on March 5. SpaceX wants to block this case with the proceedings against the NLRB. Recently, SpaceX used a similar tactic to block a Justice Department case. They target the company because it allegedly refuses to hire refugees.
