Spaarndam class with its nose in the books: will they read 900 books together this school year?

The last week of school for the class of Miss Barbara and Miss Patricia from De Spaarneschool in Spaarndam is still exciting. The students and their teachers have already read more than 800 books together this year, but it would be great if they reached 900. So they are still fanatically reading these last days.

A book of more than 400 pages. Tijn dives into a part of the Gray Hunter, hoping that he will finish it in a few days. And Isabella is reading The Crazy Book about the Billosaurus. A funny book, so that makes it fun to take on that reading challenge from teacher Barbara. She has not been able to keep track of how many of those almost 900 books she has checked off.

Barbara Salzgeber and her duo Patricia Koning both love to read, but it is becoming more and more of a challenge to pass on that virus to the children. One in five primary school pupils read little or no at all, according to a study by the Reading Foundation. But with a competition, children can always be poked, it turns out.
