S&P upgrades outlook for Croatia to positive (stable)

FRANKFURT (Dow Jones)–The rating agency S&P Global has become more optimistic for Croatia and has upgraded the outlook to positive from stable. The analysts confirmed the “BBB+” credit rating on Friday evening.

The country’s recent entry into the Eurozone and the country’s increasing integration in Europe and internationally, in S&P’s opinion, create the conditions to strengthen the resilience of the domestic economy and its growth potential. The Croatian economy will grow faster than most other Eurozone members thanks to the dynamic tourism sector, stable consumption and solid investments. Analysts expect that sharply increasing tax revenues will in turn contribute to reducing the deficit.
