The SP has lost ground in most major cities and in the traditional ‘red stronghold’ in the province of Groningen. With almost all votes counted, the SP is likely to lose a total of 104 seats out of the 272 it won in 2018. The loss in Oss, where party leader Lilian Marijnissen comes from, is especially painful.
