According to the news of Korean television KBS; Güneş is interested in being the coach of the South Korean National Team.

Şeref Çiçek, who has been Şenol Güneş’s assistant coach for nearly 20 years, said in his statement to KBS, “If the Korean Football Federation offers Şenol Güneş the position of coach, he will accept it.”
ŞENOL GÜNEŞ IS LEARNING KOREAN
Çiçek stated that the experienced coach is currently focusing on learning Korean. Şenol Güneş coached South Korea’s FC Seul team between 2007 and 2009.
He recently parted ways with Jurgen Klinsmann of the South Korean National Team.

Meanwhile, the news stated that Jeong Hae-seong, Chairman of the National Team Strengthening Committee, wanted to appoint a local coach to head the team.
President Jeong Hae-seong said in a statement: “We have left all possibilities open, but given the current situation, including the selection of players in preparation for our two matches in the World Cup Qualifiers in March, there is a view that more emphasis should be given to domestic coaches.” he said.
It was noted that the National Team Strengthening Committee plans to hold a second meeting on Saturday in order to determine coach candidates and speed up the selection process.
