Sorel brand boss resigns

The US outdoor outfitter Columbia Sportswear Company has to fill a vacancy at the top of its Sorel brand. On Friday, the company announced the resignation of Mark Nenow, who had been President of Sorel since 2015. Nenow wanted to “focus on his health,” it said in justification. Until the position is filled, Craig Zanon, Senior Vice President, Emerging Brands, will now run the label on an interim basis.

CEO Tim Boyle paid tribute to Nenow’s achievements: “His leadership has been invaluable to the company and we wish him all the best,” he said in a statement. Sorel’s sales have grown each year under Nenow’s leadership, reaching $347 million in the past fiscal year, according to a statement. The brand is now the second largest in the group portfolio.
