«As a street photographer, my aim is to capture people in the best light of the day. The golden hour in Piazza San Babila in Milan is something incredible, and the last sunlight of the day creates splendid reflections on people, buildings and water” explained the photographer describing his shot taken in February 2023, in late afternoon.
Andrea Baldaccini’s is only one of the 20 registered in the Open category of the competition, the winners of which will be revealed in April. But in the meantime the organization has just revealed the winners of the national and regional categories.
National & Regional Awards
The National & Regional Awards program is an initiative established by the World Photography Organization and Sony for support local photography communities around the worldwith the participation of 54 countries this year. Over 395,000 images from over 220 countries and territories were submitted to the Sony World Photography Awards.

All national and regional award winners will receive Sony digital imaging equipment and will be included in the Sony World Photography Awards exhibition and book.
The overall winners of the Student, Youth, Open and Professional competitions Sony World Photography Awards 2024 will be announced on April 18, 2024 and will be on display as part of the exhibition at Somerset House, London from 19 April to 6 May 2024.
