The court in The Hague has sentenced 49-year-old Ayada K. to seven years in prison for complicity in a war crime. K. left Naaldwijk for Syria with her two minor children in 2014. Once there, she allowed her son to be recruited as a child soldier for the Islamic State (IS) terror group. The boy was killed at the age of 16 in fighting near the Syrian city of Raqqa.
