On Sunday, the Dancing with the Stars program was confusing Sonja Kailassaari dance and especially the points obtained from it. Kailassaari’s steps got badly messed up, even so badly that he raised his hands to his face in the middle of the dance.
Kailasasaari’s clumsiness was clearly visible even in the home stands, as the step errors were glaring and there were several of them.
To everyone’s surprise, the judges were quite lenient with the mistakes, because Kailassaari got his dance teacher Matti Puron with 21 points from the judges for his danced jive to the tune of Mamba’s Sä oot historiaa. Only Helena Ahti-Hallberg gave a poor six points. Jukka Haapalainen gave 8 points for dance. After the broadcast ended, Haapalainen justified the good points for Iltalehti.
– Even though there are sometimes visible mistakes, there are certain things related to basic dance that are highly valued, Haapalainen said.
Haapalainen pointed out that judging the line drawing is quite challenging.
– Now the jury’s line-up showed that phenomenon, because there were so many mistakes in that presentation. It became a certain vaccination.
Kailasasaari’s good scores sparked a lot of discussion on social media.
– There is such a discussion about scoring and you can disagree. However, it is partly a matter of taste and where that appreciation takes you.
Matti Matikainen
In the episode of the evening, the couples performed two dances. Sonja and the dance teacher from the last dance Matti Puro was awarded with ten points.
Member of the jury Jukka Haapalainen justified his assessment to Iltalehti after the broadcast. Haapalainen gave Sonja 8 points for the main dance.

Haapalainen points out that drawing the line in judging is quite challenging.
– Now in our (jury) line-up, that phenomenon was visible, because there were so many mistakes in it (the performance), so it became a certain inoculation. At the joint point, they (Sonja and Matti) were left behind, Haapalainen continues.

Although Kailassaari did not get high marks from the jury, the parquet eventually had to say goodbye Maaret Kallio.
