Mia Nicolai and Dion Cooper, who are going to the Eurovision Song Contest on behalf of our country this year, are causing quite a bit of annoyance. “It makes me so sick! No, I really don’t like it.”

The melodramatic Eurovision couple Mia Nicolai and Dion Cooper get a big blow from the pan. They are leveled to the ground Strictly Private, the podcast of showbiz connoisseurs Jordi Versteegden and Evert Santegoeds. The gentlemen think their number is bad, are annoyed by their emo behavior and fear defeat.

Duncan Festival

Evert doesn’t like it. “It’s so hard to understand, that song. So this is the song that everyone was saying back in November, ‘Well we’ve got something, there’s no arguing about it, this is so insane, this has to be it.’ We never heard another song. But this is the result and we have to make do with it. I’m not mad about it.”

He continues: “I think it’s less than Arcade. It can be surprising outsider but I think Duncan was given a lot of free rein in composing, in finding the singers, who sit together, in producing, in releasing that song on his own record label. It has become the Eurovision Duncan Festival, I believe.”

Though life

Jordi thinks that Duncan also has a very big finger in the pie. “So he really decides everything. So he released the song, will soon get all the money, because I assume that if he is the boss behind the record company.”

Evert: “Yes, and I now saw Dotan at Cornald Maas in Volle Zalen, so I assume he will go next year. I’m not very fond of it, I’ll be honest.”

Jordi finds Mia and Dion very heavy-handed. “I think a bit of Brigitte Kaandorp with: ‘I have a very hard life’, when I hear what that song is about, you know.”

sick

Then Jordi suddenly goes wild. “It’s about being allowed to make mistakes and learning from them and being human. I get so sick of all those terms that are then attached to it, you know.”

Evert sighs: “Howwww. And then she would have attended drama school for a year, but that wasn’t it either. But she wanted this as a child and that acting school came in handy to be able to look a bit difficult in that clip. Well, I think it’s heavy-handed.”

Difficult exercise

The Private editor-in-chief has little interest in Mia and Dion. “Those people… We don’t know them and I even wonder if I want to know everything about them. Then they will be happy with that. But I think it is a difficult exercise.”

He concludes: “With this song you have to compete against that Euphoria singer. Well, I’ll give it to you. I don’t like the song, but that’s my opinion.”
