The 19-year-old Sem van Dijk, the son of Wendy van Dijk and Xander de Buisonjé, has asked his parents for branded shoes of about 700 euros. “Are you crazy?!”
Sem van Dijk has been trying for years to break through as a celebrity, but despite his well-known parents, that does not really work. He is currently focusing on kickboxing, music and posting all kinds of cool stories on Instagram. Apparently that doesn’t bring in much money, because he still knocks on his father and mother’s door for clothing money.
700 euros
Father Xander de Buisonjé reveals in the Panorama that Sem recently begged for 700 euro branded shoes. “A while ago Sem really wanted Louboutins, but I’m really not going to buy shoes for 700 euros, are you completely crazy. I don’t do that with the other kids either,” he tells the magazine.
Children and very expensive clothes don’t really go well together, Xander notices. “Recently we gave Dex a very expensive Stone Island sweater that was in no time was lost. Then you really have to start collecting bonus points again before you get a new one, we are very strict about that.”

What does Xander think of the fuss that arose in 2019 when Sem van Wendy received an oversized Canta as a gift? That thing cost more than 16 thousand euros, but it soon became apparent that everything had been sponsored. Wendy dived into the victim role, after which Peter R. de Vries razed her to the ground.
Xander: “Without going into that again now, it was the most important thing for me that Sem reacted so pure and happy when he received this gift. We got a lot of nice reactions to that, but for myself, I never give my children expensive things.”
sweet boy
That way Sem shouldn’t get spoiled. How does Xander actually view Sem’s career? “Sem is a very nice, sweet and mature boy. He attends the Herman Brood Academy and I think that’s super cool. He was never so concerned with his appearance before, but now he really wants to be muscular.”
He concludes: “I am very proud of him for choosing his own path, regardless of what other people think. (…) In the Netherlands we find it difficult if an actor also starts singing or vice versa, but let him enjoy it. Do everything at once.”
