Son pays tribute to his late father

Danny Bennett, son and manager of the late jazz singer Tony Bennett, spoke about his father in an interview. During the conversation, Danny revealed what an inspiration Tony was and what significance their career path had for him. For him, his father was the personification of the “American dream”. Tony Bennett passed away on July 21 at the age of 96.

Speaking to the US magazine “People”, Danny paid tribute to his father and gave insights into what his father meant to him: “He taught us that great opportunities come easily and that everything is possible if you hold on to your passion, believe in yourself and dedicate your life to quality,” said the 69-year-old. The father and son duo have been working together since 1979. At the time, Tony Bennett was struggling with tax debt and a cocaine addiction. After Danny Bennett took over his father’s career, he made his big comeback in the early 1980s.

The singer’s son went on to describe him as “an artist, a philanthropist, and an inspiration to anyone who has had the privilege of witnessing his elegance and grace.” Tony Bennett has sold over 50 million records and won 20 Grammys. He received his last award for his joint album with Lady Gaga. Tony Bennett was already suffering from dementia at this point.
