Jaden Agassi wants to start a career in baseball. His parents are well-known sports legends.

Sport was put into his cradle. His parents are the tennis legends Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf. And now Jaden Agassi also wants to go high – but not on the tennis court, but on the baseball field.

The 23-year-old was just nominated as a pitcher for the German national team. Jaden Agassi, who studied California at the University of Southern, is to be used in the World Baseball Classic qualifiers in Tucson (USA).

“It has always been my sport, I just love to stand in the field, I love to stand on the hill,” Agassi told the US portal “Tribune Chronicle”. Three years ago he also said: “Agassi is of course a very tennis-heavy last name. The goal is to make him a baseball name.”

He now has this opportunity. At the university he had fought for the place as a pitcher, now that should also succeed in the national team. In the summer of last year, he was elected player of the week in the MLB Draft League – a first success on the way to the full professional.

On March 2, the next international match of the German team will take place in Tuscon (USA) against China. It is a qualification game on the way to the 2026 World Cup.
