More and more famous Dutch people are expressing their opinion about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Monique Westenberg has also joined the discussion. Because of her stories She was initially scolded by Palestinian people on Instagram, but she now understands their position better.
‘Why is this?’
Monique also has the 6-year-old son whom she informed with André Hazes Jr. about the atrocities in Israel and the Gaza Strip. “I tried to explain to André this morning what horrible things are going on in the world after he saw images.”
The suffering also affects mini-Dré. He thinks it’s terrible what’s happening in the world right now. “His only question is: ‘Mommy why? Why are they killing those children?’”

It is difficult for Monique to answer that. “I can’t answer that. I’m sick of it, just like everyone else. So many innocent people, children and animals.”
Mini-Dré and Monique drove to the beach of Bonaire this morning to let everything sink in. “We sat down by the sea early this morning. Looking over that endless water and I told him that he can send love to them through the sea.”
